2010-So it BEGINS!

And so, 2010 begins! How am I going to make this year better than the last? It can't be too hard, I think to date 2009 has been one of the more challenging years of my life. But because I have positive energy around me at this very second, (it may leave quickly, so I will type fast)2010 is going to be GREAT, WONDERFUL, THE BEST YEAR EVER!!!

I find I need to hold myself accountable for my life and my actions (weird huh, new revelation, I know). Through this blog I will journal on how I am reaching my goals...and IF I'm reaching those goals. I unfortunately struggle with will power and determination, I always have good intentions, but the worst follow through when it come to myself. I always seem to put everyone else first in my life, so this blog will serve as my selfish escape throughout 2010.

I have four goals for this year, well maybe more, but four that I can think of right now. Four things that make me happy when I do them, but are hard for me to get started on. Drum roll please.....

Number 1, Read 180 books this year. (180 has no significance except for the fact that it is half of 365) I will keep a running list of what I have read and hope to read.

Number 2, Grow spiritually. Not just attend church, but to actually read the bible, learn from it, question it and grow with it.

Number 3, Try new recipes. I love to cook, but I find that I am in a rut. I make the same things over and over. I need to spice up my palette. I, Darci, will try one new recipe a week.

Number 4, Get healthy. I know, I know, it's number 4 becasue it is my least favorite goal, but unfortunately the most important one. I am going to have a coach this year, my sister, who is a true inspriation. I plan to (oddly enough) exercise more (which shouldn't be hard since I haven't done anything) and be aware of what I am shoving down my throat.

So there you have, the words have been written, they can not be taken back. It is January 3rd and I am on the road to success in 2010!!

So what to do first......a nap? I mean I did write ALOT of stuff!

  1. Your first comment...I love the goals! I'm excited to talk about these! I'm sure you're at least to Juniata by now. Hastings to Juniata approx. 8.99 miles. Next stop Kenesaw: 19.13 miles.
